Visual Arts provides OCA students with opportunities to explore their creativity, develop artistic skills, and discover the unique gifts and abilities God has given them.
Elementary students participate in age-appropriate art instruction where they explore a variety of artistic concepts, materials, techniques, and styles. Through hands-on projects, students develop creativity, fine-motor skills, attention to detail, perseverance, and confidence while learning to express ideas visually.
Middle and High School students may have opportunities to participate in art electives that allow them to develop their abilities through increasingly advanced projects and creative experiences. Students explore a variety of media, techniques, artistic styles, and approaches while learning important principles of design and visual communication.
Throughout the Visual Arts program, students are encouraged to appreciate creativity and beauty, pursue excellence in their work, and recognize that artistic ability is a gift that can be developed and used to honor God and serve others.
Student artwork may also be displayed throughout the Academy and featured during special events, exhibitions, or other opportunities throughout the school year.
