Music at Oasis Christian Academy provides students with opportunities to develop creativity, confidence, discipline, collaboration, and an appreciation for the gift of music.

Through age-appropriate instruction and performance opportunities, students are encouraged to discover and develop their God-given musical abilities while learning that music can be used to communicate, encourage others, worship, and honor God.

Elementary Music

Elementary students participate in music instruction designed to introduce foundational musical concepts in an engaging and age-appropriate environment.

Students may explore areas such as rhythm, melody, musical notation, music theory, vocal performance, instruments, and a variety of musical styles. Students also have opportunities to develop confidence and experience the joy of performing for others through concerts and special programs.

Middle & High School Music

Middle School students may participate in music electives that build upon foundational skills while providing opportunities for greater musical exploration and development.

High School students may participate in music electives that provide increasingly advanced opportunities to study music theory, develop vocal or instrumental skills, create music, collaborate with other students, and participate in performances.

Depending upon the course and opportunities available, students may also use their musical gifts during chapel, school programs, Fine Arts events, and other special occasions.

Music with Purpose

Music education involves much more than learning notes or preparing for a performance. Students learn the importance of practice, preparation, perseverance, listening, teamwork, creativity, and pursuing excellence.

As part of OCA's Fine Arts program, students are encouraged to recognize music as a gift from God and to develop their abilities in ways that honor Christ, serve others, and contribute positively to the OCA community.

Private Lessons

Opportunities for private instrumental and voice instruction may also be available. Families interested in private lessons may contact the school office for additional information regarding current offerings and availability.
