2026-2027 Athletic Handbook

Athletics at Oasis Christian Academy is an extension of our mission to develop students spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially while preparing them to impact the world for Christ.
As a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAC), and Mid-Florida Athletic Conference, OCA provides student-athletes with opportunities to compete, develop their abilities, build meaningful relationships, and represent their school with excellence.
While we desire to compete successfully, winning is not the ultimate measure of our athletic program. Our goal is to pursue excellence in everything we do while developing young men and women who demonstrate Christlike character both on and off the field or court.

Competing with Character
OCA coaches are expected to model the values we desire to develop in our student-athletes. Through instruction, competition, encouragement, accountability, and personal example, our coaches seek to teach students the importance of:

• Sportsmanship
• Integrity
• Discipline
• Teamwork
• Perseverance
• Leadership
• Humility
• Respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and spectators
   

Athletics provide students with opportunities to experience success and disappointment, learn to respond to adversity, work toward shared goals, accept responsibility, and understand what it means to be part of something larger than themselves.

Lion P.R.I.D.E.
Our student-athletes are expected to represent Oasis Christian Academy according to the same Core Values that guide our entire school community:

  Working together with teammates, coaches, families, and the OCA community.
• R — Respect
  Treating teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and spectators with dignity and Christlike respect.
• I — Integrity
  Doing what is right and demonstrating honesty and strong character—even when no one is watching.
• D — Discipline
  Developing the self-control, commitment, preparation, and perseverance necessary to grow as a student, athlete, and follower of Christ.
• E — Excellence
  Giving our best effort and pursuing excellence in academics, athletics, relationships, and our walk with Christ.

Our desire is for every OCA student-athlete to understand that wearing a Lions uniform is both an opportunity and a responsibility. How we compete, respond to adversity, treat others, and represent Christ matters.
