High school is a pivotal season in the lives of students as they prepare for graduation and begin making important decisions about life beyond Oasis Christian Academy. During these years, students are challenged to grow academically, spiritually, socially, and personally while taking increasing responsibility for their education, choices, relationships, and future.
At OCA, our High School program combines rigorous academic instruction with intentional spiritual formation and a Biblical worldview. Students are challenged to think critically, communicate effectively, solve problems, conduct research, evaluate ideas, and apply what they are learning to real-world situations.
Biblical truth remains foundational throughout the High School experience. Students are encouraged not simply to know what they believe, but to understand why they believe it, evaluate competing ideas and worldviews through Scripture, and develop the ability to communicate Biblical truth with clarity, confidence, grace, and respect.
Preparing for Life Beyond OCA
Preparation for life after high school is an intentional part of the OCA experience. Students work toward completing graduation requirements while exploring their God-given gifts, interests, abilities, and potential future opportunities.
Our goal is to prepare students for the path God may have for them following graduation, whether that includes a college or university, technical or trade education, military service, ministry, or entry into the workforce.
Throughout high school, students are encouraged to develop the academic skills, personal responsibility, work ethic, communication skills, decision-making ability, and Christlike character necessary to succeed wherever God leads them.
College and career preparation may include academic advising, standardized testing opportunities, exploration of post-secondary education and career options, and assistance with planning for life after graduation.
The High School Academic Experience
OCA High School students participate in core academic courses taught by a variety of teachers within the Academy's secondary schedule.
In addition to required academic coursework, students may have opportunities to participate in elective courses designed to broaden their educational experience, develop new skills, and explore areas of interest.
Elective opportunities may include areas such as:
* Fine Arts
* Literature
* Financial Literacy
* Health & Personal Fitness
* Music
* Technology & Computer Science
* Leadership
* Other courses based upon student interest, staffing, and availability
*Note: Course offerings may vary from year to year.
Beyond the Classroom
The High School experience extends beyond academics. Students have opportunities to participate in athletics, student activities, leadership, service, field trips, special events, and other experiences that contribute to their development and strengthen the OCA community.
Students are encouraged to use their abilities to serve others, develop meaningful relationships, demonstrate Christlike leadership, and become active participants in the life of the Academy.
As students progress toward graduation, our desire is that they leave Oasis Christian Academy academically prepared, grounded in Biblical truth, equipped with Christlike character, increasingly independent and responsible, and prepared to pursue God's purpose for their lives.
Oasis Christian Academy's High School serves students in grades 9–12.
